NJSECA uses a multisensory approach, building on phonological awareness, decoding, vocabulary, and overall reading comprehension.

 

NJSECA believes that every child deserves to learn how to read and communicate effectively. To achieve this, we use a variety of techniques that engage multiple senses. These techniques build on phonological awareness, which is the ability to identify and manipulate sounds in words, decoding, which is the ability to translate written words in sounds, vocabulary, and overall reading comprehension. By using the multisensory approach, NJSECA aims to create a positive and engaging learning experience that helps children develop the skills they need to success in school and beyond.

 

*Resources and materials support the Science of Reading and set all students up for success using the Orton-Gillingham approach.

 

*NJSECA is located in New Jersey and provides reading tutoring and other literacy services using methods based on the Science of Reading.
